Maintenance Department

Terry Taylor, Supervisor
Law & Justice Center

110 N. Main St.

Pontiac, IL 61764

Terry Taylor became supervisor of the Maintenance Department effective December 10, 2012.  The department employs two maintenance workers and five housekeeping custodians.  Three custodians take care of cleaning at the historical courthouse, law and justice center and offices located at 110 W. Water St., and two attend to the Highway Department and Health and Education buildings.

The County Board Public Property Committee meets monthly with Taylor and authorizes any projects to be conducted by the department.  The maintenance workers are responsible for upkeep of the courthouse, Law and Justice Center and all county-owned properties.  Livingston County is fortunate to have the services of maintenance employees in the department who are able to take care of almost all of the upkeep of county buildings including grounds work.  In addition, their woodworking skills have replaced the porch and steps at the Health and Education Building, and numerous smaller projects in various offices.  The talents of the employees have resulted in considerable savings to the county by reducing the need to hire outside contractors.
